Getting started
What is KeepSpot?
KeepSpot is a private save-it-for-later app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Save links, articles, recipes, notes, photos, voice recordings, and files, then organize everything so it is easier to find later.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no KeepSpot logins. Your library lives on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud rather than a KeepSpot account.
How do I save from another app?
Use the iOS Share Sheet from supported apps such as Safari, Photos, Reddit, Instagram, and others. Open Share, choose KeepSpot, and save the item with the useful context attached.
Saving and organizing
What can I save?
You can save links and articles, recipes where supported, text notes, photos, screenshots, voice recordings, files, and items shared from other apps using the Share Sheet.
Can KeepSpot save cleaner articles and recipes?
When extraction is available, KeepSpot can create a cleaner reading or recipe view while keeping the original source link. Some websites limit what can be extracted, so KeepSpot keeps the save useful without promising perfect extraction from every page.
How do I find saved items later?
Search your library, browse collections, use tags, and set reminders for things you want to revisit. The goal is to keep saved content from getting scattered across apps, browser tabs, messages, and the camera roll.
What is Smart Photo Search?
Photos you save can be scanned on-device so you can search for text that appears inside them. It is useful for screenshots, menus, receipts, labels, and other image-based saves. You can toggle it in Settings > Features.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. Enable Face ID or Touch ID in Settings and KeepSpot will require biometric authentication to open.
Privacy and sync
Is my data private?
Yes. KeepSpot is local-first, does not require an account, and does not send your saved content to KeepSpot servers. The privacy policy also states there is no third-party analytics collection.
How does iCloud sync work?
If you turn on sync in Settings, KeepSpot uses Apple's iCloud to keep your saves and collections in sync across your devices. Your local library still works regardless of sync status.
Pricing and billing
How does the free version work?
Free gives you up to 50 saves and 20 custom collections. Voice recordings, Smart Photo Search, and iCloud sync are available on free; the limit is how much you store, not which features you can use.
What does Premium include?
Premium removes the save and collection caps so you can store as much as you want. Pricing and any trial offer are shown in the app at checkout. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
What happens when I hit a limit?
KeepSpot will prompt you to upgrade or free up space by deleting content you no longer need. No saved data is deleted automatically.
Imports and platform limits
Can I import from another app?
Yes. KeepSpot supports importing from Pocket, Instapaper, Raindrop, Safari, and standard Netscape bookmark exports so you do not have to re-save everything by hand.
What about YouTube, X, Instagram, and other platforms?
KeepSpot detects the platform when you share a link. Open web content gets the richest treatment. Walled platforms, login-required pages, and app-only content may save the link and available metadata rather than full extracted content.
